Green Building & Performance Simulation Seminar at Vietnamese-German University

On the afternoon of August 20, 2025, the “Green Building & Performance Simulation” conference took place at the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) in an engaging and open atmosphere, gathering more than 150 participants, including faculty members, students, architects, engineers, and sustainability professionals.

The event was co-organized by VILANDCO, VGBA, IESVE, and Alpha Acoustics, in collaboration with the Vietnamese-German University (VGU), with the goal of fostering knowledge exchange, showcasing the latest technologies, and bridging the academic community with industry practice.

During the program, both international and local speakers offered diverse perspectives:

  • M.Arch. Nguyen Trung Kien (Director of VILANDCO, Chairman of VGBA) opened the session with insights on the role of performance simulation in green building design, laying the foundation for the discussions that followed.
  • Mr. Rohan Rawte (IESVE Singapore & India) continued with a presentation on applying digital modeling and Digital Twin technology to optimize energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Academic research from Vietnamese-German University (VGU) provided scientific evidence on the thermal and energy performance of double-skin façades integrated with photovoltaic blinds (PVB-DSF), showcasing the research capabilities of VGU’s faculty and students in the field of green buildings.
  • Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Ly (Alpha Acoustics) shared practical experience from green educational projects in Singapore, emphasizing acoustics in learning spaces – a crucial yet often overlooked element in sustainable design.

One of the highlights of the conference was the open discussion on “The Role of Application Software in Training and Career Opportunities in the Green Building Sector.” The session created a dynamic exchange between faculty, students, and both local and international companies, providing deeper insights into the real needs of the job market and helping to shape future directions for professional capacity building.

As part of the event, the organizers awarded 5 scholarships from IESVE, granting six-month access to its online training program (valued at £495/year), and 5 scholarships from VILANDCO, offering participation in specialized courses at the Vietnam Green Building Academy – VGBA (valued at VND 2–5 million per course). These scholarships not only serve as practical support but also reaffirm the organizers’ commitment to empowering the young generation and the professional community in pursuing sustainable development goals.

The conference fostered an open academic environment where faculty, students, and businesses could engage in meaningful dialogue, opening new opportunities for collaboration in training, research, and practical applications.

The event concluded with strong expectations to further accelerate the green transition in Vietnam’s construction sector, while supporting young architects and engineers in strengthening their capabilities and staying aligned with global trends.
