“Green materials experience day and career orientation” for students of the Faculty of Architecture – Van Lang University

On January 12, 2024, VILANDCO Company and Vietnam Green Building Academy VGBA combined with the Faculty of Architecture – Van Lang University and Knauf Academy to organize “Festival of green materials experience and career orientation” for students.

Aiming at the quality of the experiential tour, the representative of the Faculty of Architecture – Mr. Mai Quoc Buu – selected students as representatives of the classes to attend, this is a practical experience to help students learn and apply it to their subject projects in the next semester.

Also in this event, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien – Director of VILANDCO and VGBA – shared about Green Building, materials in green building, as well as skills and career orientation for students when they graduate, through introduction to design application software such as Archicad BIM, Designbuilder Energy simulation. In addition, there was also information about CFD natural ventilation software applied in architectural design from Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Y – Vice Principal of Binh Duong Economics and Technology University.

To enhance practical experience, students visited the gypsum board production line at Knauf’s factory, visited the showroom with gypsum solution systems as well as experienced construction of soundproof drywall for buildings. This is a good opportunity for students to approach and learn about green materials and sustainable mindset right from university.

In order to help students synthesize the knowledge they have learned through the day of experiencing, we hold a idea design contest, helping them learn how to work in groups, discuss and present ideas and solutions to turn Knauf Academy into a green building.

After an interesting and useful trip, VILANDCO and VGBA hope that the students will gain more knowledge and experience to prepare themselves and continue to nurture their own orientations, dreams and sustainable mindset, contributing to a green future of the architecture and construction industry.
